Wastewater Analysis

Wastewater analysis is critical for protecting public health, maintaining water quality, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. By monitoring nutrient levels, organic pollutants, and hazardous substances, wastewater testing helps treatment plants optimize processes, minimize ecological impact, and meet discharge standards. Accurate analysis safeguards aquatic ecosystems and supports sustainable water management in urban, industrial, and agricultural settings.

Wastewater Analysis

A Worldwide Standard in Wastewater Monitoring

Right now, SEAL products are hard at work providing flexible, accurate, and automated sample preparation and analyses needed to efficiently measure all types of water for regulatory compliance and other purposes. Our solutions cover the entire analysis workflow — from sample receiving, preparation, cleanup and digestion to testing, data handling and LIMS communication.

Discrete and continuous flow analyzers are both trusted and approved options for wastewater testing. The best instrument for your application depends on factors unique to your needs such as average sample throughput, available space, automation level preferred, range requirements, and detection limits.

Our robotic handling systems such as the Minilab for BOD analysis provide solutions scalable in both footprint and automation level, allowing analysts to leave monotonous tasks to the robot while focusing on more detailed applications.

Digestion systems, including the BD50 for Kjeldahl digestion, walk your samples through each programmed step of the digestion - ensuring identical timing for every round of digests. Digestion programs are saved on the unit for a quick startup each day.

Our Expertise

By choosing SEAL Analytical as your water analysis technology partner, you’re choosing analyzers designed specifically for environmental laboratories and supported by more than 60 years of experience in environmental analysis automation. All our analyzers offer regulatory-compliant methods for approved use under EPA, ISO, and more. Our Technical Chemists will help you select an analyzer based on your needs, such as sample throughput, available space, automation level, range requirements, and detection limits.

Discrete Analyzers

SEAL discrete analyzers offer the ideal compact solution for the chemical analysis of nutrients in water, offering detection limits well-suited for wastewater, drinking water, and other environmental applications. These analyzers are capable of running our full environmental methods list out of the box without any additional hardware or method changeover needed.

Discrete analyzers automate more than just the chemical reaction - they also prepare calibration standards, pre-dilute samples, and rerun over-range samples with dilutions and controls.

Segmented Flow Analyzers

Our segmented flow analyzers offer the lowest detection limits available for automated colorimetric analysis. With a wide range of methods, sample-splitting into multiple channels, and options for inline sample pretreatment, these continuous flow analyzers are workhorses for laboratories looking for high-throughput testing.

Inline gas diffusion allows for a streamlined, automated alternative to distillation for both ammonia and cyanide testing, eliminating tedious tasks that take analysts away from other critical responsibilities.

Automated BOD Analysis

The MiniLab Robotics BOD Series provides automated BOD options for labs of all sizes, ranging from compact models with 12-bottle capacity to larger custom models handling thousands of bottles per day. The robotic arms can be customized to handle multiple steps in the BOD analysis procedure. With a sturdy frame, encoded motors, and intelligent programming, the MiniLab system will maintain alignment and accurately carry out the specified automated solution.

Precision Kjeldahl Digests

Improve your TKN and TKP analysis with the BD50 Kjeldahl Digestion Block - delivering an identical digestion on every sample batch. Using a controller to deliver exact timing on each digestion step and identical heating across every sample position, the BD50 brings assurance that your samples are properly and uniformly digested before analysis on a discrete or continuous flow analyzer.
