SEAL Analytical is expanding its Lab Supplies product category with the addition of PFAS-safe autosampler vials, closures, and liners designed to help laboratories minimize background contamination in ultra-trace PFAS analysis.
Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) testing has rapidly become one of the most demanding areas of environmental analysis. With parts-per-trillion and even parts-per-quadrillion detection limits, every contact surface matters. Traditional glass vials and PTFE-lined caps can contribute measurable background PFAS, putting results and regulatory compliance at risk.
To support laboratories facing these challenges, SEAL now offers a line of PFAS-optimized consumables engineered for low-background performance in LC-MS/MS workflows and compatibility with EPA Methods 533, 537.1, 1633, and more.
Designed to Reduce PFAS Background
The new PFAS-safe range includes:
Polypropylene Vials – Lightweight, chemically resistant vials that eliminate glass exposure and are compatible with most autosamplers. Available in multiple volumes, diameters, and formats for routine PFAS sampling and analysis.
Unlined Closures – Closures with an integrated 10 mil sealing membrane in place of separate liners, creating a clean and consistent contact surface ideal for single-injection PFAS testing.
Lined Closures – PTFE-free polyimide/silicone-lined closures that pair a 1 mm amber-tinted polyimide layer with high-purity silicone to minimize leachables. These are suited for multi-injection workflows and elevated temperatures up to 130 °C.
By removing PTFE contact surfaces and interaction with glass, these consumables are designed to dramatically lower background signals relative to conventional vial and closure combinations.

A Natural Fit for SEAL’s Environmental Focus
For decades, SEAL Analytical has supported environmental laboratories with robust analyzers, digestion systems, and robotics tailored to water, wastewater, soil, and related matrices. Adding PFAS-safe vials and closures is a natural extension of that mission: helping labs meet tightening regulations with confidence while protecting data quality.
Alongside SEAL’s discrete and segmented flow analyzers, BD-series digestion systems, and MiniLab robotics, these consumables give laboratories another tool to control variables in complex workflows.
Availability and Ordering
PFAS-safe vials, closures, and convenience kits are being introduced into SEAL’s Lab Supplies portfolio and will soon be available through the upcoming online parts and consumables store. In the meantime, all items can be ordered directly via parts@seal-us.com or through your local SEAL representative.
If your laboratory is expanding or troubleshooting PFAS testing, SEAL’s team is available to discuss appropriate vial and closure combinations, compatibility with your existing autosamplers, and how these consumables can support your compliance goals.
